Really great tips on how to send a resistance message over the holidays, and also some great history on how it has worked in the past — including resistance in Colonial times!

“Trump and Vance … do not understand that their grift depends upon what I will unashamedly call the honest labor and decent convictions of millions of Americans.”

Despite our differences at the policy level, most Americans share democratic values. If we work together at that level, that’s *power*.

Floofy knits this week! First up is a mohair scarf. This was 18 years ago when I didn’t know what a challenge mohair lace would be! Came out nice, eventually 🤪.

More recently, mohair + worsted.

A good friend and I went for a calming walk at the #RoxboroughReservoirPreserve in #Philly this afternoon. Even a gray day and bare trees offer much beauty! (Two groups of pix.)

(The Atlantic). Fascinating article about the desperation and realization of increasing pressure now strongly taking over the White House. Suggest you make time to read or even skim; excellent piece by Jonathan Lemire.

I’m at the annual paleontology conference. Here’s how people today have described their work:

“I basically study swamp monsters”
“I’m a dinosaur orthodontist”
“Dead bird bird watcher”

Wintry cold day today, so I was delighted to find a few blooms still hanging in there — garden flowers in the kitchen season is officially extended a week! #BloomScrolling

From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.

The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

How many times have we seen empty promises for stuff “in two weeks” from the GOP? Thune’s promise for some future vote is BS.

Works in progress! The first is a shoulder panel of a newly-started sweater. A new (for me) technique. The second is a tee that’s been hibernating since I got tired of doing I-cord trim. Just the neckline remains. Will surely become more interesting again in the spring!

Okay, so I did it. In honor of Sandwich Guy, on what should be the last day of his trial, I figured out the chords. And so, with apologies to the late and great Bob Marley, I banged out this quick and (very) rough rendition of "I Threw the Sandwich." 🤣

Thank you, fellow #Pennsylvania ns, for voting to retain the three #PA supreme court justices on the ballot! NBC says approx. 79% voted to retain. That sounds like folks across the board want democracy! I hear from poll worker friends that turnout was especially high for a municipal election year!

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Please share with your friends still on FB! #MutualAid
If you still have a Facebook account you use, there’s a mutual aid system in formation under #GroceryBuddy to match up people who can afford to give a cart full of groceries to people who lost SNAP.
Use the hashtag and as local to you as you want to get and you’ll probably find a group.
