Reading this release (www2.acadiau.ca/about-acadia...) makes me even more angry at the process we just endured. Acadia demonstrated both sides can commit to not only maintaining relationships but strengthening them. For me, relationships feel fractured and repair will take time.

The fight for fair wages, compensation, and working conditions at major public institutions like @dalhousie.bsky.social IS NOT OVER!
The @dalfaculty.bsky.social will be right back to this in just 2 1/2 short years, but our colleagues in CUPE 3912 are in it right now!
Support them!

SMU Part-Time Faculty remain some of the lowest paid across the entire country at one of the top undergrad Canadian universities.
SMU has offered us a 1% pay increase, and a shrug on contract timelines.

... 2) the issue of where Dalhousie's chaotic strategy actually came from--it does not seem to really come from Dal, which raises questions about our leadership directions and how they benefit students, the province and the country, and 3) how to repair the damage it caused, remains.

Make absolutely no mistake and don't be fooled by the game of PR slight-of-hand being played by the administration of @Dalhousie.bsky.social.
They locked us out.
They have not bargained in good faith.
They tell you half-truths.
They are hurting students & Dal.
Support Labour.

Senate must ask leadership to explain this Aug18 claim: "If a labour disruption is inevitable, then it’s in Dalhousie Univ’s best interest to move to that stage now"
Why was disruption "inevitable"?
What "interest" does this refer to?
Show Senate the evidence for this conclusion.

At today’s DFA rally, I was pleasantly surprised to see a silly meme I made blown up on a picket sign. Definitely adding meme famous to my CV. If I’m ever not locked out. Attached again for your consideration. I think it’s just as appropriate now.

While we wait for news (hopefully good), let's remember that it was totally obvious from Pres Brooks announcement of the lockout that the lockout was going to do a lot of damage, including delaying the Fall term. And still she did it.

It's been almost four weeks since the @dalhousieu.bsky.social lockout of DFA faculty began. Progress has been made. Now, it's time for President Brooks to step in and get the Board to accept what is a fair and reasonable offer by the DFA. Let's get on with the term. #keepdalstrong

This article admits:
1) Millions from operating were directly transferred to capital
2) policy choices directed surpluses not to operating but elsewhere
Thanks for admitting this basic fact: many “budgetary challenges” result from admin choices.
End the lockout. Bargain fairly. #KeepDalStrong

❌ They don’t show up to bargain

This is the roles and responsibilities of the @Dalhousie.bsky.social Board of Governors.
Looking at this document and thinking about their performance (word used on purpose) during the lockout of the @Dalfaculty.bsky.social, we graded their performance.
It isn't great.
