Sitting here, in the Discourse Wake of the Super Bowl show, and reflecting that when I was a little kid, Sesame Street literally taught me the Spanish words it was most important for me to know. ("Peligro" especially.)

We asked the Ring CEO pretty directly about this on the show late last year.

Look I knew this timeline was being run by dadaists but "former Tumblr CEO in charge of the Washington Post" was really not a combination of words past me saw coming
Memos: Will Lewis has stepped down as WaPo publisher and CEO; former Tumblr CEO Jeff D'Onofrio, who joined WaPo last June as CFO, is acting publisher and CEO (New York Times)

I still have that edition of 1984 in my basement; I bought it in, I think, 1998.

(I don't still have that edition of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, I left it at my parents' house when I moved out.)

Took me until about 9:15 this morning to work out why the taco place and the empanada place and a couple other local places have been sending me so many "cater your event with us" emails this week

Anyway I'll be selling Girl Scout cookies at a supermarket during the super bowl lolol

No thank you, I am tired of this and would like to file a complaint with, uh, I guess Demeter or Skaði or Cailleach or whoever

We have just watched The Muppet Show (the new one) and tonally it's as perfect as it could be but it's actually kinda weird seeing 4K Muppets haha, my brain kept expecting that grainy late 70s 4:3

Continuing to feel really heartsick and heartbroken about my whole industry today and thinking of a piece my friend @emilylhauser.bsky.social wrote at the highest peak of covid about how basically, we're all just constantly swimming in, but not allowed to really process, massive amounts of grief.

I am very much a cities person and I learned to find a lot to love about this deeply weird one when I moved here 18 (?!) years ago but it's hard not to feel like a lot of those things are being squeezed out. The paper, the symphony, the sprawling culture, the jobs... Not fun times.

Not gonna lie, having school cancelled for 6 consecutive days and also not receiving mail, not being able to go out, etc etc definitely started to give me some of that 2020 feeling back. But. BUT! Today they are finally BACK AT SCHOOL hallelujah

lol never ever once thought my MFA thesis about David Lynch would be relevant to Stardew Valley but: yes, this

"Even in The Straight Story, which was not very avant-garde, it was his most wholesome, straightforward movie, but you could kind of still feel the David Lynch essence in it."
Stardew Valley Turns 10: The Big ConcernedApe Interview - IGN
We sat down with Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone for a lengthy interview not about the game's beginnings, but about its journey over the last 10 years, and its future.

12yo: no, *I* do my chores. *you're* a couch potato.

7yo: I love that!

Made it meaningfully out of the house for the first time in a week and was shocked how bad all the roads still are. Absolutely wild how much ice there is / was.

(Rescheduled the piano movers *again* after discovering the hard way that mom's parking lot is pure glass lol, ouch)

Any time I have to start my day before sunrise I end up sitting around at like 8:00am wondering where the rest of the world went and why is it so quiet and why isn't anyone responding to my messages oh right

I'm sure it's a coincidence that the first 15 minutes all week I've been able to do deep focus are also the first 15 minutes *in* a full week where I've been alone in the house, finally.
