I am so tired of seeing articles referencing the iSeeCars “study” about vehicle fatality rates. This thread has more detail if anyone is interested, but in summary: to determine a rate, you have to know the number of fatalities and the number of miles driven. iSeeCars doesn’t disclose how they
The referenced study that’s gotten a lot of headlines was based on accurate NHTSA fatality numbers, but to determine a fatality RATE, iSeeCars used “total number of vehicle miles driven, which was estimated from iSeeCars’ data.” But they don’t disclose that data, so no one can reproduce their study
The comments. This place is wild. And infested with hypocrites who love to tell others how to live but won’t lift a finger to reduce their own carbon emissions.
Some advice for Tesla owners from @andrewmoseman.bsky.social: don't sell your Tesla, no matter how much you despise Elon Musk.

It wasn’t a successful test of the revised Starship 2.0, but on the plus side people in the Turks & Caicos Islands and Dominican Republic got a spectacular fireworks show.
Astonishing video of Starship apparently breaking up over the Caribbean.

Hundreds, probably thousands of people on this site are mentally ill and not afraid of showing it.
A Florida woman was charged Tuesday after police said she ended a call with BlueCross BlueShield with the words, “Delay, Deny, Depose. You people are next.”

She was charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, and her bond was set at $100,000.

November 27, 1964: 60 years ago today, cameras rolled for the very first time on the very first #StarTrek story, the pilot film "The Cage."

Finally was able to get a daytime pic of the Amazon electric van made by #Rivian as it quietly cruised down the street. Those rear lights are very distinctive at night.

Some great daylight views of Starship today as it entered the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean.

I had hoped BlueSky would be different than Threads and there might be substantive and informative discourse on electric vehicles here.

Nope. It’s the same unhinged Tesla hate as 🧵, usually coming from liberals who claim to want to “do something” about climate change but drive gas cars.
Is it just me or does everyone immediately dislike any cyber truck on the road and its driver
