Toyota has become a flat-out climate villain, only behind Chevron and Exxon in lobbying against the environment.

There is much to like about the BZ4X, but don’t try to take it on a road trip. It’s as if they sabotaged the charging so buyers would return to gas cars.

Driving Denial: How Toyota’s Unholy Alliance with Climate Deniers Threatens Climate Progress - Public Citizen
Toyota is no longer the green darling that it was nearly three decades ago when it introduced the Prius.

A Bolt is a fine city-only car or a 2nd car, but it is tiny and the fast charging is so slow it would require incredible patience to take on any trip.

Chevrolet ended production over a year ago to focus on their more modern and more expensive EVs (Blazer and Equinox).

How about you fuck right off?
Then keep fucking off.
When you get to a wall that says “No More Fucking Off,” climb on over it, dream the impossible dream, and keep fucking off.

fast charging isn’t fast at all. It would be terrible to take on a trip.

The Model Y has replaced our ICE as the main family car because it’s roomy and capable of going anywhere. Making an EV our primary car and displacing gasoline was my top priority.
January 28, 2025 at 10:37 PM
There is supposed to be a revised Bolt coming for the 2026 model year but Chevrolet hasn’t shown any photos or given any updates. Until some are seen testing on the roads, it’s not close to release.

I considered getting a 2023 Bolt EUV, but that is strictly a second car. It’s tiny, and it’s

Polestar is made by a Chinese company. Not exactly a beacon of human rights.
January 28, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Chevrolet stopped building the Bolt at the end of 2023. Maybe don’t bother commenting on things you know nothing about.

Horseshoe Theory: When the left wing BS about EVs becomes indistinguishable from the right wing BS about EVs because you hate Elon Musk more than you love the planet.
January 28, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Hybrids are gas cars. The most efficient ones are 1/2 to 1/3 as efficient as an electric vehicle.

Stop spreading false BS. Instead of hauling around a house with wheels with a massive gas guzzling dually truck, travel in an EV and stay in cabins and B&Bs.
January 28, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Toyota makes one electric car and it’s terrible. You really shouldn’t comment on things you don’t understand.

Finally a breath of sanity on this insane asylum of an app.

If you’re posting anti-Tesla stuff and you either don’t own a car or have another EV, fair enough. But if you drive a gasser and think you’re virtue signaling, you’re not. You’re just being a hypocrite who won’t put up OR shut up.
January 28, 2025 at 9:37 PM
He hasn’t ended the EV tax credit if that’s what you’re referring to and Tesla stock is down half of one percent since January 21.
January 28, 2025 at 9:27 PM
big vehicles, the truck is long enough to not fit in many garages.

The Model Y competes against RAV4s and CR-Vs.

Direct competition to Rivian is more like the Model X and Cybertruck.
January 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
It’s even more of a disparity than that. A base Model Y is $37,490 after the point of sale tax credit. A R1S base model with only 270 mile range is $75,900, no tax credit - a $38k difference. You can buy 2 Model Y’s and have change left over.

The R1T truck is less at $69,900, but while both are

from model years 2018-2022."

Repeat: "estimated from iSeeCars data" The fatality number (20 deaths) from NHTSA is accurate. How they got the number of miles is known only to them.

They sell used cars and post articles to generate traffic to their site.
January 26, 2025 at 11:54 PM
I addressed that in my response. Literally from the iSeeCars study methodology:

"To adjust for exposure, the number of cars involved in a fatal crash were normalized by the total number of vehicle miles driven, which was estimated from iSeeCars’ data of over 8 million vehicles on the road in 2022
January 26, 2025 at 11:54 PM
determined the number of miles driven. They’re an online used car sales company. So yes, you’re accepting the word of a used car salesman trying to generate traffic to their site.

If you think the Honda CR-V and the Buick brand are among the most dangerous vehicles on the road, then carry on.
January 26, 2025 at 9:51 PM
that the Tesla Model Y, and the 3rd most dangerous brand is Buick. Of all makes, I can safely say Buick drivers do not rank among the most dangerous.

At any rate, even iSeeCars notes the Tesla cars have the highest safety ratings so it’s not the cars but possibly the drivers.
January 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
or check their numbers. Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering gave Model Y total U.S. miles driven at >7 billion, giving a fatality rate of 2.5 to 2.8 per billion miles. Considerably lower than iSeeCars’ 10.6.

If one believes iSeeCars’ study, you have to believe the Honda CR-V Hybrid is MORE dangerous
January 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
The referenced study that’s gotten a lot of headlines was based on accurate NHTSA fatality numbers, but to determine a fatality RATE, iSeeCars used “total number of vehicle miles driven, which was estimated from iSeeCars’ data.” But they don’t disclose that data, so no one can reproduce their study

How does selling an already-purchased car hurt Tesla? They got the money. Or hurt Musk in any way?

Perhaps someone living in sunny Malibu such as yourself has the financial resources to change cars like your Prada shoes, but for most people it’s their 2nd-largest investment.
