On Tuesday, @milesbsn.bsky.social set off home from Milan at breakfast time, changed trains in Paris (with obligatory patisserie), changed again at Euston (via the Euston tap 🍺) & arrived back in Colwyn Bay around 11pm after his weekend at #VeniceNoir. Around 1,000 miles by train in one day! 🇮🇹🇫🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Celebrating Legrenzi, baptised #OTD 12 August,1626. He moved to Venice where he was both prolific & influential & I love the conjecture that he might've taught the young Vivaldi!
Although his sacred works have been more popular, his secular repertoire including several operas, is being rediscovered.

Remembering Nicolò Coccon born #OTD in Venice. Not one of the most well remembered or celebrated Maestri di cappella at San Marco, but he was prominent in the musical life of Venice into the late 1890s. In 1903 at his funeral in San Trovaso, one of his own settings of the Requiem Mass was performed.
