More than 800 @nteunion.bsky.social members have participated in the biggest Vote of No Confidence by staff at any Australian university.

A whopping 95.12% said they have no confidence in the leadership of the #ANU Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.

Their leadership is untenable.

Today has been a “challenging” day where I have been reminded of the value of friendship (and also unionism). We await the change documents.

Cutting majors doesn't save colleges. It's the standard playbook, I know, but it has never seemed to turn a college around. Every faculty member knows this, because if it ever worked administrators would constantly cite it as they browbeat your colleagues into firing you by cutting your program.

An extraordinary number of staff voted in ANU pay cut ballot. Nearly 4800 staff voted, overwhelmingly saying NO. That’s right, 88% of voters said NO to a proposed pay cut. I’m so proud of the ANU community. Workers simply couldn’t afford this cut. Growing workloads are hurting. ✊
