This, in particular, is spectacularly hideous. It's like something you'd see on the wall of a car dealership where they put pictures of their top salespeople every month

I had thought most of my naive idealism had been stomped out of me by now, but it’s amazing to me that this level of public animosity could be directed by Democratic leadership toward a sweet and personable young candidate of their own party seemingly exclusively because of his background.
Q: It's election day in NYC. Did you vote for Mamdani or Cuomo?

Schumer: "Look, I voted, and I look forward to working with the next mayor to help NYC."

In reality, despite the manner of his death, Kirk was a hate monger, an absolutely vicious misogynist, and a conspirator against American democracy. Let’s not sell tickets to his “spiritual journey.”
Charlie Kirk's memorial service canonized him as the hero and motivational force of the new Christian right, a movement that Kirk himself both created and reflected. Here's a look at his spiritual journey.
Behind Charlie Kirk’s Spiritual Journey That Fused Christianity and Politics
Sunday’s memorial showcased how Mr. Kirk’s experience dovetailed with the broader story of American evangelicalism over the past decade.

Quasar is hyper-aware when I don’t feel well, right on top of me. But she does not enter bathrooms. Except I was in a hot bath scrolling TikTok and a meowing kitten came on. I guess Quasar thought the kitten meow was me doing a distress call because she flew in and tried to pull me from the bath.

Lowering the flags on 9/11 at the Guantanamo Bay McDonald's for Charlie Kirk is the most dril tweet thing that's ever happened
The flags were lowered last night around the base by order of President Trump after the killing of Charlie Kirk and will stay at half-staff on this U.S. outpost in southeast Cuba until sunset on Sunday.

🌿☕ Good Morning☀️

💐Hollyhocks💐

Holly derives from holy (as in Holy Land) ⚔️ Christian Crusaders are thought to have encountered them in their crusades, and are thought to have used them to make a salve to treat the Crusaders' horses hind legs or 'hocks'

Hence the portmanteau: Hollyhock 🐎🌿

I haven't really been around this summer, so please share things that are going on with you that I may have missed!
Did you get a new job? Eat a really good cheeseburger? Read a fantastic book? Go rollerblading for the first time since you were 12? Take an art class? Nap in the sun every day?

Acts of political violence aren’t acceptable. Non-political school shootings aren’t acceptable. Sacking the legislature isn’t acceptable. Military occupation of peaceful American cities isn’t acceptable. Abductions conducted in courthouse hallways by masked agents of the state aren’t acceptable.
