Four journalists were killed by an Israeli strike on a Gaza hospital today, including Mariam Dagga, a freelancer with the @apnews.com. She has a 12-year-old son, who was evacuated from Gaza earlier in the war.

She was a true hero, like all of our Palestinian colleagues in Gaza.

Whelp they did it. After nearly 60 years of bipartisan support of local public radio, both houses voted in favor of cutting CPB funding. Rural stations will be the most impacted and we’ll start to see stations shuttering as soon as this fall. Donate to your local stations 😢

We at Louisville Public Media just lost $376,000 due to Congress passing the rescission bill last night to claw back funds from public media across America. Today we’re asking those who value our work to help make up those funds in an emergency drive so we can maintain the staff/services we provide:

CPB has been under attack by Rep. Admins since it was created in 1967 - but it has survived bc there were always Republicans who recognized that free local news was important for their communities. What a dark day.

The bill goes to the House next.

I happen to be in D.C. today so I made an appointment at the Library of Congress to hunt down some archival audio tape from 1959 that I’ve been searching for for a year! Wish me luck! 🤓
