A happy new year only to whoever booked Third Eye Blind for a college football game halftime show in 2026.

I am truly, truly begging everyone to stop caring what celebrities think about pretty much anything. They are not experts! They are, in fact, some of the most sheltered people wandering this earth!

Between AVATAR and MARTY SUPREME and whatever else inane discourse this website has been weighed down by over the past week, I just want to hang a sign that says "it's okay to not like something without it Meaning Something."

Sorry but you're lying if you say you're going to miss watching Jeff McNeil slam his helmet after grounding into his third double play in his last five ABs.

There is a bot. MLB Trade Rumors is here. You do not have to copy and paste Jeff Passan tweets just to get engagement.

Is there another Shane Baz I don't know about who can actually stay healthy?

Time for my semi-regular and totally random reminder that you do not know anything about professional athletes and celebrities behind closed doors, especially not their personalities and beliefs, and that almost all "he's one of the good ones" narratives are entirely invented based on nothing.

Wow weird I guess the Mets' offseason wasn't over on Dec. 10 after all. Funny how that works.

It's good for my marriage that I agree with this almost entirely, but I just keep coming back to a point I've been making since last winter: Watching Pete Alonso whiff on 95 mph fastballs in a Mets uniform in 2028 was going to be way more depressing than letting him leave now.

Up next in the American medical system's attempts to scare me away: I just called the office of a doctor I'm supposed to start seeing in two weeks to confirm my appointment and was informed that actually that office shut down permanently last month. They just...didn't tell me.

The deranged Mets fan conspiracy theories almost have me jealous of whatever fantasyland they live in if they weren't so damn miserable about the stories they've invented.
December 11, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Everyone remembers that the Mets won 83 games last season, right? And missed the playoffs? That's the team you want to run back?
December 10, 2025 at 6:35 PM
"David Stearns made an active decision not to make what he viewed as an overbid on a player" is really, really, really not the same as "the Mets lost." I know everyone loves to play LOLMets but we have to stop pretending.

I think if you call a professional athlete a traitor for signing a contract, your MLB.TV subscription should be automatically canceled.

If the Mets had wanted to re-sign Edwin Díaz, they would have.

My doctor's office has not answered the phone or their internal messaging system in a week and if you told me that the goal of the American medical system was to ensure that no one actually goes to the doctor, I would not question it for a second.

ELSBETH did a Totally Not Bill Belichick/Jordon Hudson episode this week with Lana Condor and this show truly just makes me so happy.

I have been yelling about the phrase "makeup concerns," particularly when it comes to amateur scouting, for a decade. You do not know these people. You do not know their morality system, their conscience. Who is quiet vs. who's an asshole. Who just had a shitty day. www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...
