Andre 3000: "I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a 'Rap' Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time"
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

I asked my students in a questionnaire what helps them learn and what gets in the way of their learning and I thought I'd share the responses:
Helps: prof speaking slower, examples, space to think/process, incremental assignments, interactive lessons, positive reinforcement, practice, fun, slow

Accidentally bought spicy guacamole from whole foods but, as I expected, it was NOT spicy.
Wypipo spicy = a degree above bland

Faculty did not ask for this. The chancellor did this while claiming austerity and collecting a million dollars in salary and benefits. While TAMU is closing women's and gender studies programs out of pointed cruelty, the CSU is doing the same out of willful starving of resources and layoffs.
The CSU/OpenAI contract is set to expire June 30, 2026.

Sign this petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/cancel-chatgpt-edu-invest-in-humans/ for the CSU NOT to renew the contract and to use the savings to protect jobs at CSU campuses facing layoffs.

I've watched Righteous Gemstones, Fallout, and starting Justified, and I'm convinced that Walton Goggins has the word "daddy" in his rider

Since I became perimenopausal: "Anyway, every single day that I don’t go to jail is truly a miracle of ancestral prayers."

Amen
A woman, who I honestly believe meant well, just told me that filler would help, “soften the lines around my mouth.”

Anyway, every single day that I don’t go to jail is truly a miracle of ancestral prayers.

I don’t believe in hell but these people really make me wish I did.

Rereading Sasha Turner's Contested Bodies this morning and am reminded that ameliorative laws don't work since those charged with enforcing the laws held investments in enslavement. Truly still in the long eighteenth century.

Part of the unique joy of this collection was writing for other disabled people and creating crip kinship from afar. Thank you Mialise and @nervetowrite.bsky.social for this generous conversation.
