Republicans in Congress made huge tax credits for billionaires permanent, but are refusing to do the same for tax credits that help working-class American citizens afford health care. That's what this shutdown is about.

Noone voted, nor campaigned for, the shredding of our social safety net, but that's exactly what President Trump and leaders in Congress have done. They made promises to the American people that they would not touch Medicaid, while making the BIGGEST cut in Medicaid's history.

It will be impossible to hide the devastation from cutting more than a trillion dollars from our health care system.

It's not just access to health care but good paying jobs gone as well.

IF your #1 priority is tax breaks for wealthy people, you ✅

IF you'd rather not increase the debt by $4.5T, then you vote ❌

IF you'd rather not do largest Medicaid cut in history, you vote ❌

IF you'd rather not hike energy rates, you vote ❌

regular reminder that fda which regulates safety of your food, drugs and medical devices, cosmetics etc. gets only about $3.5 billion in taxpayer money per year!!!
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

HIGH DRAMA IN THE SENATE.

There are 50 no votes on proceeding to reconciliation. Murkowski, Rick Scott, Mike Lee have not voted. One more no vote stalls the bill.

Collins voted aye.

Tillis, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul have voted no.
