In the 20+ years I've had Crohn's Disease, 2025 was easily the most difficult year this illness has ever put me through. I'm really proud that I managed to get an artwork done every month this year despite struggling so much with my health. Lets hope 2026 is kinder and gentler to us all. 💚

My choices for 2025 Colour of the Year
Rin is an OC owned by me (Stasanie) Rin is a Yinshin, a closed species created by Mathilde Périé Rin is depicted here in her exalted form. She has a unicorn-like appearance with a thick dragon-like tail covered in golden scales. The front half of her body is dark maroon in colour, and the hind part of her body is pink. My favorite part about this joke is that an actual artist had to go out of their way to draw this. They didn't take the easy way out and actually use an AI generated image, they had an actual artist make a parody of AI art. And the joke is way better because of it.

It's kinda heartbreaking to see so many artists being like "can I post about OCs and not just fanart?", "can I talk about other stuff?", "can I post often?" because the other hellsite literally punished you for doing...normal things you do as an artist - as a person, even.

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.

This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.
Swen Vincke @LarAtLarian Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI. We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do. I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists. We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison.
