Thank you @karlsoap.bsky.social !!!

We're fighting to save our country and to prove that Democrats can WIN in the South!

Honored to have your support.
@michaelachiaradio.bsky.social just sent this text. It's a text about health care and also about fighting back stronger. I figure if I click that link and send a few $, when the party asks about his fundraising, he can point to it and say people want fighters.

I've heard that fancy text can mess up screen readers and I found this site which helped get rid of it. Maybe, I don't actually know anything about it. I'm just trying to be helpful.

Mamdani is going to implement Sussudio law. It has no inherent meaning.
Mamdani is going to implement Sriracha law. Everyone will have to slather hot sauce on their scrambled eggs
Mamdani is going to implement My Sharona law. Everyone will have to create songs with undeniable rock beats.

big fat animals are *terrifying* because one very good reason evolution puts fat around all your vital organs is that your lineage's history has you expecting to need armor
Every time I see a story premised on the presumably surprising idea of rotund, happy-looking whales holding their own against mean, scary-looking sharks, I feel compelled to remind people that orcas WEAR A DISGUISE. The orca is the ONE WHO KNOCKS.

I don't have an answer. There is no fucking answer. But we've got to ask. Is our democracy so broken we can't ask why we're at war?!
Man, this shit is out of hand and someone need tell us why in the fuck we are blowing up fucking boats? This ain't the shit we are fucking supposed to be doing. Someone please explain why in the entire fuck we are just blowing up fucking people? It needs to happen now

Useful information
If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

The correct way to evangelize is to feed the hungry.
yes yes yes to all of this. material politics is the way forward and that doesn’t mean slogans it means the very difficult work of being a real presence in the lives of the people who you want to trust you.
It doesn’t matter what I think. Also, none of this would ever happen. But if I had a zillion dollars:

1. Run a “we do hard things” campaign across southern and rust belt states. Invest heavily in local, state and regional social infrastructure. Sponser later hours at a library, build a skate park…

I’m really starting to suspect that most of the tech bros haven’t actually read Tolkien, as they certainly don’t understand it.

The gentle hobbits save the “hard men” of Gondor, largely through compassion and selflessness. Not the other way around. The Christian parable is barely hidden!

What is the best cheap tool that has repeatedly come through for you?

I'm going to go with this cable tester. It's about $10 and it's very simple, just a continuity tester. Work provides a fancy tester but everyone borrows this one from me.

Friday I turned on the furnace for the first time and all it would do was sputter and shut off.
Found it finally though. When the roof was replaced, they put the exhaust vent cap too low.
Glad I won't have to take off work to get it looked at.

Busiest that pantry has been in the 16 years I've been there.
Also the most help though.
Normally we fill up the tables with bags and have just enough left for homebound but we ran out and were filling extra bags from as soon as we had table space until the end and still ran out.
Food pantry in Starkville until 11 today.
If you're near Starkville, MS, there's a food bank at St. Joseph Catholic Church Saturday from 9am to 11am. We give out some extras in November. I spoke to our managers they say they think they're prepared. I'll be there carrying bags out to people's cars.

Fewer people are talking, and those who are are more politically extreme. And it they're not saliva extreme, they're an advertisement for something you don't need. That the biggest change in online spaces in the last few years. We've got to bring back mundane normie posting
In short, the ANES data shows:
📉 Social media use is shrinking
💥 Twitter/X posting has moved ~50 points to the right
🧩 Platforms are splintering
🔊 Fewer people are talking — but those still talking are more politically extreme
