Their fight for equal pension rights, occupational sick pay, and the same bereavement leave as their colleagues is a just one. Time for Labour Court intervention. @forsatradeunion.bsky.social
What another major day in the campaign for #PensionParity by school secretaries and caretakers. Five huge rallies across Ireland, bringing energy, noise and power. Do you think the government is finally getting the message?

We strongly support the demand to end casualisation and eliminate insecure contracts.

This includes defending Academic Freedom and pushing back against growing commercial and political pressures. Education must remain a public good, democratically accountable, properly funded, and accessible to all

SIPTU Divisional Organiser, Adrian Kane & Labour Leader, Ivana Bacik delivered the annual James Connolly addresses today at the Connolly Commemoration in Arbour Hill Cemetery.

Fantastic to see that UCD Students have balloted in their referendum to rejoin the Union of Students Ireland (USI)

SIPTU looks forward to working with an even stronger Students movement in securing fair conditions for students and workers alike.

Ní neart go cur le chéile
Solidarity always wins

SIPTU support the campaign for UCD to rejoin USI

Collective representation is vital in securing fair conditions for students and workers, and USI plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights of 3rd level students

We encourage UCD students to vote Yes in this referendum

"BIMM’s initial proposal removed job security, employment protections and stable hours. Particular concern to our members was BIMM Managements initial refusal to engage with IFUT or the WRC. We welcome recent progress and hope a fair resolution is found." SIPTU Education Sector Organiser, Karl Byrne

An important victory for workers as the EU Parliament passes vital legislation on European Works Councils!

But take note of who opposed it!

By voting against workers’ rights - joining forces with PfE & ECR, the EPP has shown that workers and trade unions cannot count on them.

📰The pay dispute highlighted by @SIPTU member Charlotte Fallon continues to rumble on, despite assurances it would be addressed.

#Section39 workers deserve better! Government must give funding departments the mandate to address the issue. #GE24
