A very basic question about solar and wind congestion: it's highish today in some areas because it's cheaper to have some congestion some times? Grid buildout is too slow or ignored? Or? Further simple explanations welcome

(not just protests! We need boycotts, strikes, slowdowns, guerrilla art, disruptions, gumming the works from the inside, etc) from a cross-section of society.

Which generation sources are most important for grid services? Are inverters allowing black starts, etc particularly expensive? Can solar now do everything that hydro and gas can, except ramp up fast? Am I behind the times with my answers from a decade ago?#energysky

Today at COP29, the US announced a roadmap to deploy 15 GW of nuclear by 2035, & 15 GW per year after that by 2040, for a total of 200GW by 2050.
