"Riol. I am ready." The man, Riol, turns back to his left with a smile and his eye closed, starting to left his right arm in a welcoming gesture towards the festival, as he begins to greet his date before abruptly cutting off. "Ah, there you are! Ready to head—" Next to him stands... someone. It's impossible to tell exactly who, as the person is wearing a bulky, full-body outfit of a blue rabbit, similar to what a mascot might wear, with their head entirely hidden within the "rabbit head" of the costume. Kara, the woman inside the rabbit costume, tries to look down at herself, although the bulk of the outfit makes the motion hard to execute, as she comments on her appearance, oblivious to the reaction of the man in front of her: "I think that I liked last year's outfit better. This is quite cumbersome." Meanwhile, Riol holds one hand on his hip and the other up to his lowered forehead in exasperation, gritting his teeth and rolling his eyes. Or maybe just rolling his eye. However many eyes he's rolling, he's clearly had enough of his mischievous colleagues dressing Kara in order to play pranks on him.

I've been batting around some thoughts on Kara's story during my hiatus, and I think the new 7.4 trial and the direction it implies for the game's trajectory has solidified for me what happens next in terms of telling Kara's story. Need to organize my thoughts before getting into it here, though.

Agrias Oaks, holy knight of Final Fantasy Tactics, as recreated in Final Fantasy XIV, stands with her downturned longsword held before her. She is mostly turned towards the left side of the frame, with her back to Kazimiera Wiecznamrozuwiczówna, whose last name I *almost* spelled correctly just from memory. Almost. Kass is dressed in the same outfit as Agrias—the steel breastplate, blue corset, and wide-cuffed sleeves of the Ivalician Holy Knight, and carries the same style of sword. In contrast to Agrias, Kass holds the sword in her right hand, which hands down at her side, while raising her left fist in front of her face as she quietly reflects.

It's a dark bedroom and Erenville and Irein sit in bed, curled up together. It has been years. Irein is an old woman at the end of her life. Erenville looks exactly the same. Erenville: You'll wait for me, won't you Reen? Irein: Y-You're f-f-funny. Erenville: I knew you wouldn't. But I had to ask anyway. The shot closes in on them. Irein: S-S-So y-you be-be-better c-catch up q-quick, E-Eren. Erenville: Now /you're/ being the funny one. Irein: I do-do-do l-love dr-driving o-our y-hyouth to-to s-suicide. Erenville: 'Our youth'? I'm still older than you, no matter how wrinkled you get. The couple grin at each other, Irein waving her hand away dismissively. Irein: Se-Se-Sem-m-mantics! I w-was b-b-born f-first. Erenville: You're so old you've conveniently forgotten the time travel. Irein: I'm o-old. I c-c-can do wh-what I w-w-want. Erenville sighs and Irein gazes at him, concerned. Erenville: And so this? This is what you want too? Irein: Wh-Whether I w-w-want t-to or n-not isn't im-im-important.
