The War on Terror, esp under Bush & Obama, was an effort at creating ungoverned spaces where killing specific kinds of proposed subhumans (eg Arabs) didn’t trigger rule of law or human rights concerns. MAGA is simply expanding these spaces stateside to a new proposed subhuman: “the brown immigrant”

One of the biggest achievements of the attack on “wokeness” (a piece of purely far-right framing) was that it made a lot of people have contempt for the demographics who were giving the earliest warnings of what Musk was up to. It’s hard to listen to those who you don’t consider to be fully human.
