Vela is a law abdiding citizen. But she finds herself on the run due to the void tech latched onto her. Aquiring/neutralizing void tech supercedes citizens rights for the Alliance AIs. Tensions rise with the Consortium where Vela flees to. But they help her, and gain access to the tech.
#FebruaryWorldbuilders What is your MC's relationship with the law or law enforcement like? Are they law-abiding citizens with no problems? Are they on the run? Maybe tensions are rising? Or maybe they're actually involved in law enforcement?

Being post-scarcity the Alliance and Consortium have little need in the ways of punishing material crimes. For injury and murder it is very strict and severe. While the Alliance has no capital punishment indefinite sentences are a thing. And in high profile cases the Enclave sometimes steps in.

A role that gnaws on her when her feelings for Vela develop. When they meet during the story it's an emergency where Nori comes to help.

In the alliance courts are like comittees. 49 % ai and 51 % sapiens voting powered virtual meetings that decide on things of sufficient urgency. Like Limn's criminal charge, without even hearing witnesses in most cases. Attornies are very rare. Only the biggest cases have that.

Space. I love maps and space. But they don't go together that well. You have a lot of options bundled up in the setting though. And end of december I sat down and made my own map(3rd) . It's inspired by Star Trek (1) and Star Wars (2) maps.

Inside the Alliance the Urban Police Agency (UPA) is the biggest internal security force. Courts are committee driven and justice is handled mostly via VR. With baffling speed. Other factions have their own agencies and out of their respective borders any faction likes to hire mercenaries.
