Oh my God, this is exactly right. It's the simplest messaging in the world. Many Democrats ran on Trump being an authoritarian threat and then when he takes power and immediately becomes an authoritarian, the Dems want to compromise and only talk about the economy.
Fun Fact: If "criticizing" your party is sufficient damage to allow it to lose to Literal Hitler; your party likely lost on its own merit.
