I honestly do not understand the whole Sydney-Melbourne rivalry. Do people genuinely care?

Happy Metro Tunnel Opening Day for all those who celebrate! 🚇🥳
Better, reliable, accessible, fast, frequent, connected public transport opens up access to opportunity, and gets more people off the roads and out of the traffic. #Melbourne #MetroTunnel

Narrower lanes also slow cars down by making drivers more uncomfortable and careful subconsciously. People won’t drive like they’re on a highway when lanes are only 3 - 3.3m wide but will when lanes are 3,5-3.8m wide. So this move will also help compensate for the loss of speed cameras.
narrowing car lanes is a good way to force low-speed streets in addition to a way to provide bike lanes without getting caught in the province's stupid legislation.

bike on, toronto. the province can try, but this is a city that walks, bikes, and takes transit in huge numbers and that won't change.

T9 is absolutely packed as usual at 9pm. But no, there's not enough demand for extra services or station upgrades

I wouldn't mind everything having sweetener in it if artificial sweeteners didn't taste like shit and completely ruin everything they're put in

Shout out to the recent upgrades to Crown St, Surry Hills. City of Sydney removed several car parks in favour of landscaped outdoor dining areas. Some were turning temporary ones from COVID permanent, others are new. It's a really great area to walk along and enjoy.

Here's some before and after:

It's ok, you can just plow through a pedestrian crossing while someone's crossing as long as you put your hand up to say sorry

It appears as if my schedule is not conducive to seeing the metro tunnel on opening day :(

Might have to go the weekend after

New Cherrybrook Station rezoning - a pretty big uplift compared to the mediocre prior plans. Dozens of buildings in five "neighbourhoods," up to 28 storeys at the 'Town Sq', and several new parks. Good to see the Metro finally being utilised here for housing.

The one time they actually run extra trains on the T9, it gets fucked up. I swear the T9 is forever cursed

The site wide work Christmas party is $25, and my group leader is organising a group Christmas party as well, and who knows how much that will end up costing, but probably around the same.

I gotta spend $50 on two shitty parties I don't even really want to go to
