During the first Twitter exodus, I signed up for both this platform and Threads. Threads grew quicker and was thus more interesting to hang out on. Hoping this second exodus will make this place more of a place to be. I’d like to one day be Meta-free.

I have a small, nearly invisible scar in my eyebrow. I walked straight into the concrete base of a parking lot light pole when I was like 9, bc I was gawking at the zoo's Christmas lights over my shoulder. 😂

The thing about Twitter is that a lot of people let it become part of their lives. Myself included. And to have it degraded and snatched away by a reprehensible shit head like Elon Musk… well, it hurts. Pretty weird to feel grief about a social media site, but a lot of us do.

At the job that burned me out (foreshadowing) we were discussing what we’d do if we won the lottery and boss said he’d build an entire company from the ground up all over again “because it’s fun”. Like, no dude. Find me nowhere near a P&L statement or fluorescent lighting ever again.
when i was a young biglaw associate there was a team building thing where a partner asked hypothetically what I’d do if I won 5 million dollars. i said “retire” and she rolls her eyes and goes “be realistic, you can’t retire off of 5 million dollars”

Deactivated my Twitter account this morning. Just can’t support that guy, plus it’s no longer recognizable as the Twitter where I made so many friends, met my husband and opened my worldview. It was time to go.
