And yet we wonder why trust in the democratic system is eroding. Voters aren’t invested in the processes; which makes them easy to malign and exploit
The same genius brains that brought you “there’s no Covid if you don’t test for it” now bring you “there’s no delays if there aren’t any flights”
If you just cancel flights, then they're actually not late! Brilliant stuff from Sean Duffy here

word of warning for my fellow VA data nerds: If you're parsing VA's results be careful of which counties have allocated their AV/IP-EV into precincts and who hasn't. They'll eventually all get there, but there's a mishmash rn and your precinct analysis might get thrown off big-time

VASBE is putting the AV votes into precincts and I think it's showing that every precinct in Fairfax Co went for Spanberger
November 5, 2025 at 9:48 PM
There are actually about 20 precincts where Jones ran ahead of Spanberger

Congrats VA on finally becoming a "blue state"
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

Because ballot referenda are fun: NYC rejected an attempt to move city elections to presidential years.

there'll be more over the coming days, but some of the precinct level swings in VA and NJ are just colossal

You're telling me Abby Spanberger won the election day vote in Purcellville?

BREAKING: Democrats just broke the GOP supermajority in the Mississippi Senate!

In a stunning victory, Democrats gained seats in court-ordered special elections and will now head to Jackson to represent and fight on behalf of their constituents.

Man Republicans are lucky the state Senate isn't up in VA tonight
November 5, 2025 at 2:00 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Yeah, 2024 trends aren't holding
November 5, 2025 at 1:20 AM
It's small but a double-digit D swing vs 2024 in Manassas

Ya done pissed off the suburbs
November 5, 2025 at 12:42 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Loudoun drops a 63-37 bomb on Sears
November 5, 2025 at 12:31 AM
remember, rural VA reports first, then urban VA comes plowing in

Lest you think political bettors are smart and know the intricacies of politics.

For the record: this is fusion voting and has been NYs system for like ever. Harris and Trump ran on two party lines last year

early exit polls? The farmer's alamanc is more useful
November 4, 2025 at 10:41 PM
this. See what the final reports from the DC metro look like to see what true "pissed off suburbs" look like

That group: ARL, ALX, Fairfax, PW, Loudoun, Stafford

Manassas/MPark, Fairfax, Falls Church are the tiny independent cities of NoVA. data points, but get drowned by their larger neighbors
Folks I wouldn’t go too wild either way reading into Falls Church

Always has strong turnout

But drove by polling place there and still people voting there

It’s more a good example of what’s happening in suburbs

County to watch in VA: fast-counting and big Loudoun

if the three Dems lead it by a large margin even in its AV/EV dump, that gives you a indicator early of where the direction is going
November 4, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Things

1) Earle-Sears has not led a poll in Virginia this year and never managed more than a tie.
2) in 2021 the late polls showed Youngkin leading/close
3) in 2017, the RCP average was dead-on the Republican vote share, but it understated the Dems
