Totally missed this last year's paper: A great introduction to continuous-time modelling (deterministic & stochastic)!
Who is afraid of modelling time as a continuous variable?
Most models of ecological and eco-evolutionary processes involve creating trajectories of something, be it population densities, average trait values, or environmental states, over time. This requ...

We show that rebuilding fish stocks on coral reefs can significantly increase the number of fish servings produced a year and the number of people meeting fish intake recommendations, particularly for countries with high malnutrition! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Potential yield and food provisioning gains from rebuilding the worlds coral reef fish stocks
Many coral reefs have fish stocks that are depleted below the level at which sustainable production is maximized. Lower production means that millions of people are losing out on potential food, incom...

Are you interested in invertebrate aquatic foods and their role in global nutrition-security? We quantified the nutrient supply of aquatic invertebrates for 29 essential nutrients, and in the process we developed predictive models of their nutrient content! Preprint alert: @chrisgolden.bsky.social
The nutritional value of invertebrate aquatic foods
Aquatic invertebrates are a diverse, nutrient-dense, and socio-ecologically important food whose contribution to human nutrition is frequently overlooked. We quantify their contribution to global nutr...
