You know why these guys are so willing to flagrantly and openly break the law? Because they’ve been doing it for years, testing the waters, seeing what they could get away with—and they got away with all of it. This is the consequence of no consequences and an injustice system.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

This is why we need to dump the myth that most rape victims "aren't coming forward out of some kind of understandable but unfortunate fear."
That's a tool that's been used to blame victims for cops not doing their jobs and apologize for rape culture.
