Alright, I've put a good twelve hours into the full release, I can now confirm Nioh 3 is the bee's knees.
I understand why they start you off with one weapon slot per style. Plus, as a bonus, finally unlocking that second slot and just dumping thirty points each into new weapon trees was like crack.

One of my toxic no-fun-allowed traits is that I really hate transmog and layered armour. Some of the best fun to be had when you no-life a game is putting together really ugly but efficient sets and telling just by glancing at someone what their gameplan looks like or how seasoned a player they are.

I saw that that one skill related to swapping weapons during a ki pulse is buried in the Nioh 3 demo skill tree and fucking screamed in agonised ebullience. This game is going to be so unbearably good, and it's absolutely going to lose swathes of players just due to the sheer number of mechanics.

I don't know what changed between the release of the demo and now, but Nioh 3 has been running like a dream all of a sudden and I am absolutely living for it. This game is going to swallow me alive.

Many of my quiet little reflections on art and the human experience have their roots in some form of Romanticism. Something I find amusing given the movement's heavy emphasis on nostalgia for a bygone era which deftly opposes how outspoken I tend to be against nostalgia at the conceptual level.

There is value in grounding or restricting the scope of one's fiction for practical or accessibility purposes. However, there is such a wealth of imagery and possibility available to those willing to disregard the nagging of the masses to explain everything.
