This was what Judge Millett was getting at today in the D.C. Circuit oral argument. If the government doesn't have to give you notice or a hearing before removing you from the country, what's to stop them from removing you - literally you, the person reading this - from the country tomorrow?
If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

I'm really starting to lose my patience with Allistics. All this stating of "Vaccines don't cause Autism!" And yet they never address the problem of "Why do anti-vaxxers think that having Autism is worse than dying of typhoid fever?"

Why isn't anyone but us saying THAT WE AREN'T A DISEASE??

The payment system at Treasury has been taken over.

“90 percent of all federal payments, including Social Security benefits, tax refunds and payments to federal workers and contractors. That adds up to a billion annual transactions totaling more than $5 trillion.”

A few weeks before Donald Trump was sworn in as president, members of his transition team went to the Treasury Department to talk about the handover of power.

This was reported. A lot. Not just by @motherjones.com etc, but by the biggest outlets. The bigger question is: why didn’t people see/believe/care about that reporting.

Stop blaming reporting entities for information ecosystem issues outside of their control.

Also…subscribe to some stuff ffs.
project 2025 is probably the media's single largest failure I think. there's a lot of grey areas and you can't please everyone, but it is factually true that they are doing large parts of it, people said they were going to do this, they lied about not doing it, and that could have been reported.

A federal court has declared that warrantless searches of US person’s communications collected for national security purposes is unconstitutional. Now it’s our job to make sure Congress knows that when they renew this law in a little over a year.
VICTORY! Federal Court (Finally) Rules Backdoor Searches of 702 Data Unconstitutional
In a landmark ruling, a federal district court held that backdoor searches of databases full of Americans’ private communications collected under Section 702 ordinarily require a warrant. Congress sho...

“If liberals are to respond effectively to the challenge of a new Trump administration, they will need to reflect critically on what happened in 1989, and discard the story they’ve always told themselves about it,” writes Ivan Krastev: www.theatlantic.com/internationa...

Unique and credible insight
Why Liberals Struggle to Cope With Epochal Change
The error of their mythology about 1989 matters because we face another such moment of historical rupture today.

i'm not going to hand it to tom fucking cotton, but he is 100% correct here, and all of the people cheering not-yet-president-trump for telling tech companies to ignore a law passed with a bipartisan majority in congress are greasing a chute they do not realize they will be thrown down
Meanwhile, this from Sens. Cotton and Ricketts: “For TikTok to come back online in the future, ByteDance must agree to a sale that satisfies the law’s qualified-divestiture requirements by severing all ties between TikTok and Communist China.”

No matter where you fall on the TikTok ban, the President undoing by “executive order” a law passed by Congress and upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court is an unconstitutional abuse of power.

"Why didn't you fight back against the Chinese?"
"Well, war is obsolete, you know. Of course the mind can rationalize fighting back...but the heart, the heart would never understand. Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind, and the war would be inside you."
