So I’ve begun a Substack where I keep detailed reading notes on #Schattenfroh, a new novel from #DeepVellum claimed by some to be a masterpiece (I tend to agree so far). Read or spread it around, if you can. I’m working hard on this.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

If you ever say or even imply that a fellow human being isn’t really human (or AS human as, say, you), then fuck you. Fuck you forever. Fuck you, fuck your mother, fuck your life.

Not taking anything away from Senator Padilla because he was treated atrociously

But I JUST want to remind everyone that the Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, a Black woman, was just indicted for just asking questions at an ICE detention center in her state

Keep that same energy of support for her

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

Honestly, is there anything better than 1) stop-motion animation 2) distant future dystopian cities with deep, inaccessible ground levels, and 3) labyrinths?

Reading tons of Bataille (several books at once), Wuthering Heights (because of Bataille), and immersing myself in the Marseilles tarot. The small insanities that make life sane.

Rando dream: William Burroughs late in life rapidly describing little films and vignettes—transformation of objects, levitations, magic acts—that no one could possibly bring to life but that everyone scrambles to write down, nonetheless.

I’ll tell you exactly how to do BETTER than “the liberal Rogan.” OFFER PEOPLE a FUTURE. I mean a future with SOUL and IMAGINATION. Jump ship on this fucking prison reality you’ve helped create because it will always slope down. A nation of slaves to financial survival will ALWAYS lead to this.
NEWS:

Democratic mega-donors are debating plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on a range of influencer plans to "find the liberal Rogan."

We've got pitch decks, investor meetings, and internal docs.

One Democrat has a spreadsheet of 26 different proposals.

Some personal news: the Department of Homeland Security has given me, an immigration lawyer born in Newton, Massachusetts, seven days to leave the U.S. Does anyone know if you can get Italian citizenship through great-grandparents?

Disappeared from Dallas, TX. Detained, according to Latin Times, for his autism awareness tattoo and vanished despite being determined “clean” of gang affiliation. Currently in El Salvador, where he’s packed in an overcrowded terrorist detainment facility. His name is Alvarado Borges.

Look, if the Democratic Party had any inkling of ambition or vision, it would be humming with energy right now. If it fails to articulate a future other than “not MAGA,” it’s a dead party riding on the back of republican failure, and things will get much, much darker.
