Perspective? Yes, today’s world is unstable, but if you actually look at history, it’s not necessarily unprecedentedly so. What’s new is how loud and relentless the awareness is. We carry the whole world in our pockets and our brains we never meant to handle that much stress, knowledge, and grief.

War is bad for business. A full-blown world war would wreck global trade, collapse markets, and cause mass instability. World leaders are extremely foolish at times, but ideally few of them should be willing to destroy their own nation’s wealth and infrastructure.
