Paleontologist, geologist, science educator, and leader. You friendly neighborhood dinosaur man.
When the genus known as Megaraptor was first discovered, it was thought to be the largest member of the Dromaeosaur family (the proper family name of the "raptor" dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, as well as their relatives). We now know they were a late Cretaceous family of their own.

Thanks to Korin Brody & her team for being such great host. Special thanks to my friend Kathleen Edinburgh for attending & the pictures.

A Jurassic James(R) approved update on the biggest debate in paleontology

Scientists at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences have found that what was believed to be a juvenile T.rex skeleton is instead a distant relative, the first of its kind to be found in a full skeleton.

Last night (Halloween) I heard noises in my man cave. It turns out Tamara's stuffed Marshmallow Man was fighting my Ghostbusters' transformer Echtotron.

My brother says this is why children like me, I am a big kid...

I have never been one to follow what is popular or "flavor of the month" crazes... And I am not going to start with this #labubu fad!

I took this picture to 1. Showcase the Children's Museum Houston's endless visiting character's list and 2. To bring joy to whichever of my fans are into this!

The Children's Museum Houston is really into holidays. There are always different characters walking around.

One of my favorite "not dinosaurs" is little Lystrosaurus here, who's name means "shovel lizard" despite being more closely related to mammals than reptiles. The shovel part describes the shape of its face and likely lifestyle of digging some form of burrows.

Happy #fossilfriday did ypu know Stegosaurs, means "roofed lizard".

The next time you visit a museum, consider the fact that the Stegosaur's plates are suspended above the skeleton. This is due to their position in life being attached to the animals skin and not directly the skeleton.

This is my buddy Ryan Price. His area of study is late Triassic archosauriforms. They are not crocodiles, but to the casual observer are related. I enjoyed learning from him and appreciate the friendship we forged in the crucible of conversation.

Mr. Chris Wells, one of the original HMNS concierge discovery guides, came to my last tour! When I saw him walking down the grand hall I was surprised & happy!

Later we spoke & I honestly did not know the impact I had on his life and career! I am honored to have helped my friend.

More pictures from the last tour. Thank you Daniel Huerta aka @mr.dannydan. I did not even notice you taking these.

Looking at these pictures I am starting to think my wife is right, I am dramatic!

Thank you, to everyone that attended my last adult education behind the scenes tour in HMNS' hall if paleontology! The mandate in 2015 was to conduct these tours until they stop selling out, and yet 10 years later we still did!

Special thanks to Alicia Furse for these great pictures!

In September I conducted a dinosaur drawing class at HMNS in the Morian Hall of Paleontology. I wanted to thank everyone that attended, and my buddy Alicia Furst for these pictures.

I have been doing this as corporate events where the guest get drawing of prehistoric creatures.

Does anyone else think that Pixar's "Up" (2009) was in spired by the opening of Dido's song "Thank you" (Official video)?

I did not announce it at the time, but I was promoted from part-time science educator to the Children's Museum of Houston's lead educator after only 4.5 months of employment. I believe HR said it was some sort of record.

The CEO of the Children's Museum of Houston read this book about how to give the best customer service to your guest.

She requires everyone that leads or manage people (even if it is only one person) to read it and share their favorite or most meaningful parts.
