What I hope doesn't get lost in the team event narrative this Olympics is the fact that America's pair team getting 4th rather than 5th made the difference. Ilia, Kaori, RikuRyu and Bock were most likely going to top their respective sections so an extra point here or there really made a difference

You know that meme of the guy with the medal and the champagne actually being in third? I'm that meme about Italy's bronze medal. So proud of them!! This team event has completely drained me of my energy I need to go to bed now

Something getting lost in the backflip discourse is that Ilia isn't responsible for the backflip revival. French skater Adam Siao Him Fa is, and iirc he has acknowledged Surya Bonaly as an influence.

People complaining about the backflip being legal now in #figureskating need to keep in mind that it also used to be illegal for women to wear anything other than a skirt. The sport evolves, rules change. It's okay.

Watching another country's broadcast and I'm just now realizing that not only did the BBC cut the men's event short yesterday but they also aren't pumping the music into the broadcast, it's just the arena sound! How disappointing #olympics

Wait, Feraligatr ISN'T Water/Dark? I thought for sure that Legends ZA would make it Water/Steel to be tankier, more futuristic, and to differentiate from the original typing but I'd be willing to take Water/Dark too!
