We legit had a “library” room in my middle-class house growing up, and this was one of the books on the shelf I read at nine or so, which has never left me. (“Age-appropriate books” was not a concept in those days, for better or worse.)
the film adaptation is pretty good!
If you’re into books written by people instead of assembled by AI slop, I just finished this one, which is about a Black guy who quits the CIA to train Black freedom fighters in Chicago, and I can’t stop thinking about it.
