YRE’s own Dr. Tracey Wilkinson provided evidence-based testimony in a U.S. Congressional hearing last week on national threats to birth control access. Young people, she states, are particularly at risk.

@jezebeldotcom.bsky.social contextualize our finding that 2/3 of minor adolescents live in states w/ abortion bans or parental involvement laws. They highlight horrific abortion "trafficking" laws limiting teens' ability to travel for care or have support from adults in their lives. bit.ly/4jw3kPu

#2, defend institutions (ahem)
Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

The Trump tax plan only works by cutting public services.

This incredible visualization combines the potential tax cuts (which mostly go to the rich) and loss of services (mostly borne by the poor).

It is a giant wealth transfer from the poorest to the richest. budgetlab.yale.edu/news/250319/...

Thank you to everyone who stands with USAID. Share far and wide. Unfortunately we don’t have $40 million to buy up ads during the Super Bowl. Even if we did, we’d use it to support the U.S. economy while feeding kids around the globe.

A reminder: Tariffs are a regressive tax that drives up prices on everyday goods. They disproportionately hurt the working class and poor who bear the brunt of higher costs while wealthier consumers feel significantly less impact.

This is a sigh of relief for millions of people who have been in limbo over the last twenty-four hours as the result of the Trump Administration’s callous attempt to wholesale shutter federal assistance and grant programs that people across this country rely on. (Continued in thread)
