From lithium mining in Serbia to Hungary's contested battery bet and data extractivism and neo-colonialism in the Global South. The bad examples are many. But maybe also the alternatives?

very happy to be part of this report by the fantastic Critical Infrastructure Lab & REDE.
The title of my short essay is

It's not a bad read for an academic text :)

I'm desperate to read in-depth analyses of Israel's war with Iran & potential consequences. It seems to be really (!) important. But I don't see much.
Is this the result of algorithmic filtering, people being less active on Bluesky or low salience? I'm sure it's not because non-experts have shut up

"Europeans have reverted to instinctive support for Israel, championing its right to self-defence despite U.S. intel indicating that Iran is not actively pursuing nuclear weapons.
What Europe is really backing is Netanyahu’s survival quest and dreams of remaking the Middle East"

Several factors contributed to Israel’s war against Iran, incl a desire to fully exploit its perceived regional weakening and thwart a U.S. nuclear deal — as @ecfr.eu has consistently warned. But the spectre of Netanyahu’s quest for political survival also looms large.🧵
