A lot of my work happens in the quiet parts of the day. When everything slows down a bit, the ideas usually show up.

The hardest part of design is not making it look good. It is getting five people with different agendas to believe it looks good.

Really love how our brand reveal video for Ona turned out. Good reminder that investing in sound design is worth the effort. It carries half the story.

I wish more companies invested in this level of craft in design and development, and had the conviction to shape their own perspective instead of just taking what’s out there.

Today, we've updated Linear Mobile with an all-new design that looks great on iOS 26, and thanks to the powerful APIs #SwiftUI has been adding over the past few years, we're bringing it to iOS 18 with zero compromise.

AI tools are starting to look the same. I have no doubt that Design and craft will be the real differentiator.

AI is sprinting, but the interfaces are barely moving.

Wild how fast things move. The Humane AI Pin already feels like a museum piece. It's sometimes less about the tech and more about whether people actually want to live with it.

I wonder why people are so obsessed with chasing process formulas. What worked for someone else won’t work the same for you. Find your voice, show up, be kind. Everything else will follow.

Pretty surreal to see our brand work for Ona up on Times Square. Unreal moment for a small studio like ours.

Grateful to Talia and Johannes at Ona for trusting us and going all in — and shoutout to Fuzzco for literally getting it up there. 🫶

For Ona, we created the ripple effect, a branded interaction inspired by the way water responds to touch. Calm, responsive, alive. While building the brand and product, we aimed to weave in these small moments of delight that make complex tools feel intuitive, human, and even a little joyful.

A glimpse of the motion design we at MAD created for the new Ona brand and product.

Part of a bigger journey where we worked across brand, product, and motion to bring Ona to life.

Templates are only as good as the designer using them.

So cool to see parts of our brand work for telli up on Times Square. Always wild to spot something you worked on out in the world like that.

Not fully convinced by the new Apple UI updates yet. I’m into blurs and translucency, but from what’s been shown so far, it feels more busy than light. Curious how it actually feels on device though.

Not sure if it’s just me, but is there a growing trend of prioritizing speed over everything else?
I miss the energy of founders who were more intentional and structured — not just racing to launch, following the same patterns, and hoping something sticks.

At MAD we are deep in brand and product design with the @gitpod.io team for their next chapter — Ona. A new kind of engineering agent, built for security and scale. More coming this year. ona.com

We’ve been building MAD side by side for a while now, and seeing @sebastianwaters.bsky.social reflect on our path, process, and principles like this is a reminder of why we started MAD in the first place.

With all the amazing tools available today, there's never been a better time to be a designer. What I can imagine, sketch, and bring to life solo is truly exciting.

I’d love to see more thoughtfully built native apps. Most apps out there feel pretty mediocre, especially when it comes to micro-interactions and details. Sure, React Native can deliver great results, but it usually ends up just being a shortcut.

I’ve never read anything valuable on LinkedIn. Seems like a lot of people are writing for the algorithm rather than people.
