“Male loneliness” is kind of the perfect antifeminist complaint, because it articulates the moral logic of patriarchal entitlement very neatly: that men deserve women’s attention, company, devotion, sex, and care, and women should provide these to men even at the cost of their own wellbeing.
Workplace discrimination and harassment, sexual assault, and domestic violence - these very often leave victims desperately lonely but this loneliness somehow never merits discussion as a "crisis"

Yeah I do think the “teenage boy” in these discussions is a pretty transparent stand in for the anxieties of adults.
grown adult men making excuses for and justifying their OWN misogyny by hiding behind the abstract idealized figure of the "vulnerable teen boy" who is just "confused" by a society that caters to men ever so slightly less than previous generations are absolutely pathetic little worms by the way

I can't believe this post and the response. How is your first reaction to seeing something like this not "was she even capable of consenting to this?" Saying that he looks trustworthy because he doesn't look like he regretted it, or how if there's no evidence she DIDN'T want it, he should be freed.
if your sick wife is like three hours from death, busting her free to smoke meth and get railed to slayer one last time is fuckin awesome and sweet and you can't convince me otherwise

RE: Oppression and allegory again, I remember really liking how the Broken Earth trilogy (by the wonderful @nkjemisin.bsky.social) handled it (although it has been a minute since I've read it).
