🧵 It’s Sunday morning, and eggs are still expensive, so here’s a pro baking tip:

You can replace eggs with baking soda & vinegar. This works really well for pancakes (and even cakes, muffins, and quick breads).

Here’s how ⬇️ (1/4)

In 1932, Richard B. Spikes received a patent for an automatic car gear shift. Big companies welcomed his inventions. By the time he created the automatic safety brake in 1962, Spikes was losing his vision. To complete the device, he first created a drafting machine for blind designers.

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

A mini #Grammys thread, since they're tonight.. I'll start with my favorite Grammys show.

The 1984 Grammys, when Michael Jackson made history, winning 8 awards in a single night.

It's also the most-watched Grammys ever, drawing in over 51 million viewers. #GRAMMYs

Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.
