I’m proud to rep NEJC in this story by Amy Alonzo! The fight for workers’ rights is the fight for climate justice✊🏼🌎

We would not have gotten this win without the grassroots movement and environmental justice champions like @cinthiamoorenv.bsky.social that brought this issue to the #nvleg in 2023 💚

The housing crisis is not unique to Southern Nevada.🏠 Other cities don’t have the luxury of being surrounded by public lands and must find solutions within their geographical boundaries. Nevada needs to invest in our existing communities before selling BLM land to the highest bidder. #NVisNotForSale
Clark County previously confirmed to the Review-Journal that the federal government owns 88% of all land in the county, and the Bureau of Land Management manages more than half of that.
Las Vegas is heating up, drying out and running out of land, experts say
The biggest barrier to accessing most of this land is the federal government, said panelists at a recent event hosted by U.S. Rep. Dina Titus.

Electricity prices are rising more than twice as fast as overall inflation. That's especially costly during the dog days of summer when air conditioners are working hardest. In addition to hot weather, a variety of factors are causing power bills to climb, including the high cost of natural gas used to generate electricity and soaring demand from data centers.
