Big news for Southern Nevada: My Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act just passed in the House! This legislation will help address our decreasing water supply #OnlyinDistrictOne while also preserving our special landscapes.

234 years ago today, the first 10 amendments to the U.S. constitution, otherwise known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified. These are the guiding principles for the experiment that is our country, as we work toward forming a more perfect Union.

Today I am urging Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith to place the FAIR BET Act on the committee calendar. Now is the time to fix the unfair 90% tax deduction for gambling losses that negatively impacts professional and casual players. See my full letter to the Chairman below.

I am pleased to see that portions of my RESTRAIN Act were included in the NDAA which just passed the House, eliminating the possibility of seeing mushroom clouds in our backyard.

On this day in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was established as a guide for a more just society. While certain political forces work to dismantle these principles, I will continue to advocate for human rights around the world. #HumanRightsDay

Along with every member of @housedemocrats.bsky.social, I am supporting a discharge petition to force a House vote on a three-year ACA tax credit extension.

This week, the House floor will take up the Republican PERMIT Act which exempts many of our waterways in Nevada from Clean Water Act protections. I introduced an amendment to this legislation to safeguard our waterways and ensure clean water for #OnlyinDistrictOne.

Thousands of middle-income Nevadans are seeing their health care costs more than double because of Republican health care cuts in POTUS's Big, BS Budget Bill.

70 years ago, Rosa Parks became a pivotal figure in the civil rights movement and our country’s history. She demanded change to a rigged system and fought tirelessly for equality.

The President of the United States calling for the execution of sitting Members of Congress is an impeachable and undeniably egregious offense that deserves bipartisan vocal opposition.

President Trump must immediately rescind his comments and call for the deescalation of political violence.
Trump follows up this post by calling for these Democratic lawmakers to be put to death

Today truth and transparency won. I voted to release the Epstein files for the victims, for Nevadans, and for the health of our democracy. President Trump must be held accountable by the people.
November 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
I am here in Washington to vote for the release of the Epstein files. While Speaker Johnson and POTUS tried to hide the truth, I believe that Nevadans deserve transparency and accountability from their leaders.

It was a pleasure speaking with Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine and Commissioner Michael Naft during yesterday’s town hall to address Nevada’s affordability crisis.

Together, we can craft policy at the federal, state, and local levels that protects our lives and livelihoods #OnlyinDistrictOne.

Simple marijuana possession is not a threat to public safety, and it is ridiculous to justify the prosecution of individuals with an outdated law that does not reflect the current use of cannabis in the United States.

As a sponsor of the Expanding Access to Family Planning Act, I am deeply concerned by POTUS’s decision to terminate nearly the entire staff at the Office of Population Affairs.

I am strongly urging Secretary Rollins to follow through with USDA’s government shutdown contingency plan to keep SNAP funds flowing. The Administration’s refusal to use SNAP reserves leaves millions of families hungry.
October 28, 2025 at 8:35 PM
SNAP benefits are running out despite POTUS's ability to keep funding flowing, and families are going hungry. Meanwhile, POTUS moves forward with his big, BS ballroom. What a contrast in priorities.
