1/How do maladaptive responses to novel environments influence trait evolution? With field & lab studies, we (@jpvelotta.bsky.social & @mstager.bsky.social) explored this in deer mice along an elevational gradient. And...it's complicated! 😱

Please spread widely and quickly - the more signatures we get the better chances we have of cajoling NSF into changing course on this small but very impactful item
NSF unexpectedly changed (at the last minute) who is eligible to apply for the Grad Research Fellowship, dropping 2nd year students. We started a petition to reverse this unfair change, Sign here:

We created an updated, urgent petition focused on the devastating #GRFP eligibiilty changes - please sign and share if you can!

The new #NSF #GRFP application now excludes 1000’s of students, including those who were told they could apply this year, or who planned to apply next year.

We have a new specific petition urging #NSFGRFP undo this harmful action. If you are impacted sign here: laurenkuehne.github.io/grfpChanges/

If you are a grad student in their second year, hoping to apply for a GRFP, the eligibility requirements have changed. You are now ineligible. www.nsf.gov/funding/oppo.... This is an outrage. The government willy-nilly changes the way things are done and it hurts students.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Show me a better investment than that.

For the first time in 10 years, a child has died from measles in the United States.

Vaccines prevent measles.

Americans need to hear our top health officials say clearly: every child in America should get vaccinated against this terrible disease.

This extends the temp restraining order that's been in place the past few weeks.

Big win for health.

Big loss for disease and cancers. Especially political ones.
