Hi folks!

I am a PhD student studying parasite-host interactions in deer mice and botflies 🐭🐁🪰 🏔️as well as physiology, genomics, and how these critters are affected by climate change. I’ve also been known to hold a bird or two and even a plant.

Also, I’d like to keep science alive if possible.

The GRFP announcement from NSF cuts out an entire cohort of 2nd year students from consideration, without warning. This is so deeply unfair that it warrants a formal protest from the scientific community. If someone wants to work with me to craft an open letter and solicit signatures, LMK.
New: After a long wait, the GRFP solicitation is live! Deadlines have been extended to early November, so applicants have a bit over a month to submit. www.nsf.gov/funding/oppo...

All my hard work and prep seems to be for naught. Maybe we can get something back. Consider signing:

The Dunn Lab was out at the Stand Up for Science rally in Denver today!

It was cold but we met some great folks and had the distinct pleasure of meeting Steve, who had the most excellent hat 🎩

No, YOU! Couldn’t have done it with your help 🫶 more to come!
So proud of this amazing leader & woman in science. I've known her a whole week and a half, but what a feat to lead a #standupforscience2025 event in a major city as a trainee (in only 1.5 wks!) Thank you for all you did for our team @ssenese.bsky.social!

Feeling exhausted watching Trump spew falsehoods and misinformation as he addresses Congress this evening?

We’ll have an excellent talk from a science communicator on the nature of mis- and disinformation at the Colorado @standupforscience.bsky.social rally this Friday.

The work continues.
