Totally not troubling at all. What I’m about to say might sound like conspiracy theory but I have a hunch ICE let them do this under the guise of not enough agents, not enough time, but really hoping one of them would act out of line and people would respond with violence.

I'm going to say this until I'm in a camp myself but the entire world collectively needs to stop looking at ICE agents as if they are people. they are not. and there is no utility in making arguments that dehumanizing them is as bad as what they do to their victims. they dehumanized themselves.

It’s not paying sexual abuse victims that’s the problem. It’s hiring and harboring someone who represents the city that sexually abuses people. Choosing language that puts the burden on victims needs to stop. Do better LA Times.

Had a chance to stop a member of the Guard and ask whether they carried any guidance on their person about Posse Comitatus Act (and/or a list of "exceptions" like the troops in LA were given per DOJ). He didn't seem sure what PCA is but did show me this doc he had in his pocket on rules of force.
