I think there are a bunch of people who think telling people how to say things is activism. We have to not be so damned precious about the exact words and just start loudly agreeing with each other. Yes - and. Less theatre criticism, more movement building,

I’ve never had to change the battery to a car key fob before…friends are laughing at me, telling me they can help me, and then changing the batteries for me. ♥️. I’m over here googling and learning that there is a real key hidden inside. Who knew?

I’m not ignoring bird flu, the fall of the United States, or the world all around me…but I am working at finding my moments…art, nature, dogs, etc. This weekend’s book - Slow Noodles by Chantha Nguon. My obsession with Cambodia continues. I do understand it’s a direct result of current events.

I worked this show last night…I completely enjoyed it. And was a little sad to see just a sea of older Caucasians.

The Santaland Diaries on this American Life has become an annual tradition for me. So glad I got to see him. Maybe will sign up for Josh Tatofi tomorrow night.

If you wanted to decrease the cost of homes, one thing you wouldn’t do is put a flat tariff on your main source of timber.

Ridiculous birthday coffee. Massage last night. Going to go watch the movie The Brutalist this afternoon with popcorn and whatnot. Maybe a new for me car (mine is 19 years old).

Appointment on the 21st for my mechanic to check out a new to me vehicle. Can I justify buying a new one? No. Can I justify trading my truck in for a newer car? Also no. But I want something smaller. Have I selected a car? No. Have I cleaned my truck? No, but I do have appointment with my mechanic.

I just realized how tense I have felt since I woke up.

So this is your reminder to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take some deep breaths.

Take care of yourself. Put your own mask on before assisting another passenger.

Renewed my monthly donation to ACLU. Last week was discussing my best strategy to process the news - distract, numb, or act. I can distract with the best of them. Numbing doesn’t work for me. Act - I am one drop in the sea and what I can do won’t fix- but this amongst other things are my ripple.

Trump's new executive orders aim to dismantle DEI programs and accessibility programs.

Companies, schools, and institutions must resist the fear and confusion of these orders by doubling down on our commitment to equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of their background.

These orders represent a deliberate attempt to undo progress on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and create new barriers to opportunity.

Bullhead City is one of the hottest cities in the U.S. 126 degrees in July kind of heat. My office had a window and was next to a door leading out to the desert. After a long dry spell, we had a gully washer. Everyone stopped work, went outside, and smelled the desert in the rain. IYKYN
Tell me, friends, a wonderful memory about rain.

Next week is certification testing…so I left on Sunday for five days of teaching this week. 3 islands, 3 planes, and the road to Hana which is 600 curves and 50 one-lane bridges and nerve wrecking. My stomach is still not okay from drive. I may hibernate a while this weekend. But it’s beautiful.
