🤔 Wondering what Windsor MP Candidates have to say about public transit? ATWE invited all candidates and all parties to take our public transit survey. Please note that candidates who did not reach out to us were not included. See our website for details!

I'm curious how my bag which flew in cabin on a flight 6 days ago is now "way too big" for the exact same flight in the opposite direction @aircanada.bsky.social? Especially when there are empty seats and people with larger bags are seemingly fine

Shoutout to the @ttcriders.bsky.social volunteers who I ran into and gave me a cool poster to take back to Windsor!

I do love coming back to this city. I miss it dearly

Windsor Council had a special in-camera meeting today, same day Ward 4 Councillor Mark McKenzie was removed from the Federal Leadership race for suggesting PM Trudeau should be put to death.

I wouldn't assume they're related exactly, but definitely interesting

I interviewed with AM800 to discuss yet another short-sighted decision by the City of Windsor, this time to cut a century-old transit service

Late on the update, but thanks to @activatetransitwe.bsky.social advocacy the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Bus has been saved (for now). Unfortunately with a fare increase that could deter ridership, and with Mayor Dilkens threatening to veto the budget amendment altogether
Transit Windsor tunnel bus saved, for now
City council has voted not to eliminate the Transit Windsor tunnel bus and special events bus but the price to use it is going up.

The tunnel bus survived the first vote[1], but the mayor is considering a veto[2]. The bus was saved in a 7-4 vote[1]. We need 8 votes to save it from the veto. This would be a great time to write to your city council representative and tell them to save the bus.

If you are in #WindsorOntario and haven't yet signed @activatetransitwe.bsky.social's campaign to stop million dollar cuts to transit, please consider sending an email to council.

We have come far and want to stay strong in the coming week.

Donald Trump has united Canada more than anyone else ever could.. against him, & the “threatening & insulting” idea of Canada ever joining the United States, says former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien on his 91st birthday.

“Give your head a shake!”

(if Chrétien wanted to lead the Liberals again…hmm)

The fact that it's Windsor feels particularly relevant to me, as the Mayor of Windsor is the co-chair of the provincial government's Housing Supply Action Plan Implementation Team.

This matters for 2 reasons:

1. It shows Windsor isn't planning on hitting the provincial target
2. This lower forecast keeps development charges higher than they otherwise would be

Simply not allowing 4-6 story apartment buildings without double loaded corridors: such a huge lost opportunity.
Legalize low/mid rise point access blocks with maximum building depths!Ensure blue/green infrastructure at the block level!
Prioritize climate resilience, health, efficiency…
