Roughly 20 years ago I started a “Web Comics” bookmark folder with dozens of links. Over time many have quit, some have disappeared, and I rarely check in but when I remember to, I always catch up with Oglaf. I’m glad it’s still being made and that I finally know a bit about the pervs responsible
My latest at @comicsjournal.bsky.social: I talked to @oglaf.bsky.social! Not the character, but rather, the people who create it.
They don't do many interviews, so this was a real treat. They're funny people! Turns out they're not super private, just...really bad at PR?

Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

I feel like we have the opportunity to turn David Lynch's quote into this moment's "Keep Calm and Carry On" and it's a far better rallying cry too.

Just in time for Halloween, the Fright Zone autoshipped from my BBTS “Pile of Loot” and arrived yesterday - Although I wish they’d incorporated the Slime Pit, it’s another great update and my daughter loves it. While Grayskull and Snake Mountain are cool, this is the one she’s requested for her room

Happy National Black Cat Day!
Superstitions persist to this day and unfortunately black cats are less likely to be adopted and more at risk of mistreatment than cats of any other color.

Whether today or next month, as some sources state - this autumn is the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
It’s story, by Geeta Dayal, is the first of the 33 1/3 books that I had to purchase, definitely worth reading: www.bloomsbury.com/us/brian-eno...

I stopped at Target for a couple things and $1 slime caught my eye, Sagan is loving it …I still haven’t found anything quite like Mattel Slime or Ectoplasm or Ooze but for only $1 👍👍

This is such a good story. Since I have all of the zines (starting with the miscolored 1st print of #1) I was going to pass on this hardcover collection but I really don’t want to miss out on the added bits…

The iconic images of Star Wars, the Muppets, Back to the Future, etc… Drew had the ability to create posters every bit as engaging and entertaining as the film he was depicting …although occasionally he may have oversold the movie a bit. Thanks for so much inspiration Drew!

The X-books ended with Claremont’s run, everything since has been fanfic of mostly poor quality. If anyone should be jailed it’s Bob Harras.
What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?
The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷

I love that this is being made and that it’s not just another emulator in housing that looks like the thing, but it IS the thing and it can connect to old floppy drives and play cartridges and do everything your old Commodore could, because it is a C64 …and I don’t “need” one… but kinda really I do.
