Time is a flat circle
That Ortiz and Clase reportedly received the EXACT same dollar amount from fixers — in 2025! — as Shoeless Joe Jackson and Lefty Williams did in 1919 is … completely absurd. And another reason why player salaries have very little to do with why these gambling scandals happen.

Solid effort from Auburn there, and they're a great little upstart program. But it's just so hard to close the deal on the road when you're trying to upset a top 25 SEC powerhouse like Vanderbilt.

John Rocker continuing to have Exactly the Politics You'd Expect in 2025 makes me question the magnitude of the post-2016 realignment in US politics.

Baseball is a close and deeply empathetic friend who is right there beside for you 6 months out of year, then goes on a 4-week bender that emotionally destroys you 29 out of 30 times, then suddenly disappears from your life for half a year before coming back as if nothing happened.

For Game 7, the Dodgers are starting the most famous player in the sport, a multigenerational talent.

The Blue Jays are starting a discarded zombie costume they picked up outside the stadium last night, brought to life with the rage of the undead.

Honestly you have to think Toronto wins 5-2

deeply funny that Roberts has been going to Blake Treinen over this guy for literally the entire postseason

choosing to believe that George Springer literally filmed this TD commercial since coming out of the game and there's no evidence you could present that would cause me to doubt that

Starting to think a Greek mythology punishment might be in play here. The game is doomed to continue until the Blue Jays are brave enough to pitch to Ohtani.
October 28, 2025 at 5:36 AM
did you fools really think we wouldn't get to see another Ohtani IBB?

Please offer a thought or prayer for the brave souls in Newfoundland who have stayed up to 3:00am for this.

It's a "the decision to pitch-run your back-up catcher with 27th percentile sprint speed actually paid off" kinda game.

The cuts to Kershaw just to jump-scare Dodgers fans are best part of this game.

We're officially in 2002 Barry Bonds territory re: Ohtani.

Me three innings ago: I know Ohtani's great but surely you can't put on the tying run.

Me now: Well obviously you gotta put him on.

It's really a double win for Canadian baseball fans because not only did the Jaysbwin, but also we'll be able to watch the World Series without having to listen to John Smoltz.

The research on this shows basically the exact opposite relationship. The more people know about "AI" the less likely they are to use it:
