Online course contents for Experimental Design & Analysis w/ R at UC Davis by Dr. Dan Runcie (listed as Plant Sciences 205 at UC Davis). I took it in 2017 when I was a PhD student, one of the best classes I have ever taken! Highly recommend.

I actually watched these when first starting wet work a bit ago. Helped a lot to refresh on stuff I only learned in undergrad lab
I have a YouTube playlist (10 videos) for #MolecularBiology for my undergrad interns in the lab.

I usually have my interns watch these videos to get introduced to the basic concepts before I go show them how to in the lab.

I use social media to read about other people's science, share science that I found interesting, and share my own research & plant biology in everyday life. For this purpose, an echo chamber is just what I need. Reaching out for opinions that I don't agree with is simply not why I am on here.

Call your senators and demand they block his nomination.
RFK Jr.: “Thank you [to the NIH] for public service. We’re going to give infectious disease a break for about eight years.”

Kennedy wants to take a “break” from studying infectious diseases like COVID-19 and measles.

RFK Jr. comes ‘home’ to his anti-vaccine group, commits to ‘a break’ for U.S. infectious disease research
He has suggested without evidence that researchers and pharmaceutical companies are driven by profit to neglect chronic conditions.

(Re-)sharing my recent paper! We applied single cell RNA-seq + ATAC-seq to study how alkaloid specialized metabolism is regulated across cell types in the medicinal plant Catharanthus (Madagascar periwinkle). Thread 🧵.

Cell‐type‐aware regulatory landscapes governing monoterpene indole alkaloid biosynthesis in the medicinal plant Catharanthus roseus
In plants, the biosynthetic pathways of some specialized metabolites are partitioned into specialized or rare cell types, as exemplified by the monoterpenoid indole alkaloid (MIA) pathway of Cathara...

We strongly suggest that academic publishers and other platforms that host research rapidly implement a Share to Bluesky button for their articles. Here's how:
