We did it! We caught Starship #transposons moving between #fungal species in the lab, including between species separated by ~100my. We think Starships are a mediator of HGT in fungi, akin to conjugative elements in bacteria. Check out the preprint. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

This is certainly a very interesting study.

Just the terminology is confusing. I'd say "proliferative or quiescent state" rather than "resistant or tolerant"
All is done at []s around the MIC

But is is interesting to see the cell capacity to adapt the response!

In a profession that already requires lots of time investment to be succesful... Non-native speakers are at great disadvantage
Non-native English speakers need 50% more time to write a paper

When they do, they face a 2.5 times higher chance of being rejected because of language
