Two books on the schedule for this year, plenty of new Bullet Adventures in the pipeline, new full pitches and one-sheets in development, tabling at ECCC again, 2026 is going to be a good year if I have to fight it into submission!

One Battle is my last 2025 movie of the year, so 56 films in all for this year's list! Still a lot I didn't get the chance to see, but glad to at least match last year's count.
This lonely December holiday night spent with the latest DiCaprio film is at least going better than when I inflicted Don't Look Up on myself.

This has been an undeniably down year for me, but I'm hopeful 2026 will be a better showing on the whole. I'm still pitching, and all it ever takes is one shot at the right time.

Enjoying this last week of "getting an email would be a nice surprise" before "not getting any emails is crushing" returns in the new year.

Further than I've ever been in Banjo-Tooie and having a blast with it. Going to be sad to wrap this journey from Replaylee to Kazooie to here up.

Banjo-Tooie is front-loaded with a shockingly high number of cutscenes.

Finished a touch-up rewrite on a first-draft script and brainstormed for a new pitch, this year's best efforts haven't beaten me down, I'm still at it.

Banjo-Kazooie continues to hold up remarkably well for turning 28 next year. Some aged bits for sure, but still immensely fun.

Revisiting Pushing Daisies for the first time since it aired, it's fun seeing Lee Pace play so doofy and neurotic after two decades of intensity.

100%, men of all ages should have platonic friends who are women. When you're friends with women as a child and a teenager, it bakes into you by default the fact that (as stupid and redundant as it feels to say out loud) they are people too.
This is a model for what actual masculinity should be. Men don’t need to spend more time in caves beating their chests with other men; they need to take their daughters to a meaningful thing and talk to them about it. Relatedly I think the biggest cure for toxic masculinity is platonic women friends
In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

Newest story idea is def old story idea with the serial numbers scratched off, but changed enough to be distinct. It's one that I really loved, too, so why not try a new angle on it a few years later?

I'm looking forward to tabling at Emerald City in March with the absolute dude @jordanalsaqa.bsky.social. I am simply delighted that we did a crossover issue between our cape comics because it means we can put it in the dead center of the table as a divider w/ our TPBs on either side.

New story idea while on the light rail, with a scene in my head that's just a sapphic version of "Pretty Women" from Sweeney Todd.

I wasn't trying to write two different horror short pitches that correspond to my relationships with my mom and dad respectively, but I sure did do it.
