Our photograph shows the northern lights glowing in the night sky above a dark Irish landscape taken this week. The sky dominates most of the image and is filled with sweeping curtains of colour. Deep violet and rich purple tones spread across the upper sky, blending into bright magenta and soft pink beams that appear to rise upward like gentle flames or spotlights. Near the horizon, the colours fade into cooler shades of teal and green, creating a luminous band just above the treetops. Below the lights, the land is almost entirely in silhouette. A line of trees stretches across the bottom of the image, completely black against the glowing sky. At the centre stands one striking tree, bare of leaves, its twisted branches reaching upward in sharp, claw-like shapes, as if grasping toward the light above. The surrounding trees form a dense, uneven edge, grounding the scene in darkness. Tiny stars are scattered faintly across the sky, visible through the coloured glow. The overall feeling is quiet and awe inspiring. A still, rural night where the earth is shadowed and silent, while the sky moves with soft, radiant colour, as if the heavens themselves are gently breathing light. Finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame.

Photo of a great many conifer trees in a forest. Only the straight, vertical trunks of the trees in the foreground are visible, but green from the pine needles of trees further back can be seen. The closest tree has an almost orange colour to its bark - the rest appear almost monochrome. The forest floor is dead bracken.
